A passenger train struck and killed a man in a motorized wheelchair in Vista Thursday, authorities reported.
The Sprinter train hit the victim on a stretch of rail in the area of Main Street and South Santa Fe Avenue about 9 a.m., according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The man died at the scene, Lt. Matthew Carpenter said. The victim’s identity was not immediately available.
