Two armed men robbed a Cricket Wireless store in Southcrest, the San Diego Police Department said Thursday.
At 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, two men entered the store in the 1400 block of South 43rd Street and produced guns, according to SDPD Officer John Buttle.
One suspect pointed his gun at the clerk while the second suspect kept his firearm hidden, the officer said. One suspect went into the employee area to open the safe and collected several cell phones. The second suspect stayed up front and demanded the clerk take the cash out of the register.
One suspect was described as a 35-year-old man wearing a blue jacket and black beanie. The other suspect was a 20-year-old man, wearing a gray beanie and hoodie.
Both suspects left the store in an unknown direction, Buttle said.
The clerk was not injured during the robbery and the total loss was unknown.
SDPD robbery detectives were notified and were investigating the robbery.
The robbery was likely related to a robbery in National City on Tuesday, Buttle said.
