A person died in a head-on vehicle collision Thursday in Vista.
The crash was reported just before 7 a.m. Thursday on Olive Avenue at North Melrose Drive, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department’s Lt. John Spach.
A Chevrolet traveling north in the 400 block of Melrose drifted to the left directly in the path of an oncoming Toyota. The resulting crash left the driver of the Chevrolet dead at the scene.
His identity was not released. The other motorist was unhurt, sheriff’s Sgt. Eric Cottrell said.
The cause of the accident was under investigation.
