
Oceanside and Carlsbad firefighters contained a small brush fire that broke out Friday in a dry grassy area near Country Club Senior Center.
At approximately 2:25 p.m., fire and police units were dispatched to the area. The response included two Type 1 fire engines, two Type 3 brush fire engines and a battalion chief.
Upon arrival, firefighters quickly deployed the necessary hose lines to box in the fire and prevent flames from spreading to nearby properties.
No injuries were reported and no structures were damaged, according. to Oceanside Battalion Chief Wes McGee. The fire, which burned a quarter acre, was fully extinguished within an hour.
The cause is currently under investigation by an investigator with the Oceanside Fire Department.
