Authorities Thursday publicly identified a 65-year-old man who died in a July 16 motorcycle crash on state Route 67 in the community of Lakeside.

According to the county Medical Examiner’s Office, Stephen John Corbin of Yucca Valley died from multiple blunt-force injuries and there were no contributing factors.

According to California Highway Patrol news release, on July 16, Corbin was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle north on SR-67 at Slaughterhouse Canyon Road when “for reasons still under investigation, the driver allowed his vehicle to travel off the roadway, where it struck a concrete curb.”

Corbin was ejected onto the road, suffered major injuries and died at the scene, according to the CHP.

According to a county ME’s Office press release, a passerby saw Corbin lying on the roadway, called 9-1-1 and also attempted lifesaving measures until law enforcement arrived.
