
Three adults and a child escaped a house fire in La Mesa early Tuesday, the Heartland Fire & Rescue reported.
The fire began just after 2 a.m. in the 8700 block of Mellmanor Drive, said Public Information Officer Andy McKellar.
The fire was on the second floor of a multifamily home and residents escaped safely with no injuries, he said.
Fifteen fire units were on the scene, including crews from San Miguel, San Diego and officers from the La Mesa Police Department.
The fire was extinguished by 4 a.m.
The American Red Cross was helping the four residents who were displaced find shelter.
Heartland Fire officials were investigating the cause of the fire.
