A semi-trailer truck knocked over a fire hydrant at a construction site in Mission Valley Monday, causing partial flooding of Friars Road and rocks tossed into the street.

The crash happened at 7:23 a.m. Monday at 7050 Friars Road across the street from the Fashion Valley Mall, according to OnScene TV.

The driver of the semi-truck with an extended trailer pulled into a construction site and hit the fire hydrant, causing water to be gushing into the air for about 20 minutes, the video news service said.

San Diego firefighters and a contactor eventually turned off the water to the hydrant as vehicles on Friars Road were forced to travel through the partially flooded street.
