Authorities reported that a motorist was killed early Tuesday when she crashed her car on a Mira Mesa thoroughfare.

The 28-year-old woman lost control of her 2010 Ford Mustang for unknown reasons while heading east in the 7700 block of Mira Mesa Boulevard shortly after 3:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.

The vehicle veered off the roadway, hit a raised concrete median and struck a tree, SDPD Officer Sarah Foster said.

The driver was ejected from the car and died at the scene of the accident. Her name was withheld pending family notification.
