Deputies were searching for a suspect Wednesday after a man died of wounds suffered in a shooting in the La Presa area of Spring Valley.

The 32-year-old victim was found with gunshot wounds to his upper body near Jamacha Boulevard and Thayer Drive around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies performed life saving measures until paramedics arrived. The man was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

Officials released few details around the circumstances of the shooting and do not have any suspect information.

The name of the victim is being withheld pending criminal investigation.
