Police have identified a suspect in Friday’s stabbing at a Mira Mesa home that left an 87-year-old woman dead and a 59-year-old woman critically injured.

The deadly assault in the 8600 block of Pagoda Way was reported shortly before 3 p.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.

The 87-year-old woman died at the scene, said SDPD Lt. Adam Sharki. The 59-year old woman was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

The suspect was described late Friday as a Latino or white male with a thin build, 6 feet to 6 feet, 3 inches tall, in his 40s or 50s, Sharki said.

He was last seen wearing a maroon shirt and blue jeans. He might have fled in a small gray SUV with out-of-state plates.
