The San Diego Police Department is looking for “service-minded San Diegans” to fill openings for sworn officers and other positions at a career expo on Saturday, April 23.

The Pave the Way Expo will feature representatives from various units including SWAT, communications, the K-9 unit and the Homeless Outreach Team.

Potential candidates can learn about available positions, the hiring process, training, and opportunities for promotions or other assignments as their career advances.

“If you’re a service-minded individual who wants to give back to your city and help ensure it remains one of the safest in the United States, we want you to join the dedicated men and women of SDPD,” said Mayor Todd Gloria.

The free event from 8 a.m. to noon is open to anyone aged 18 and older. Interested applicants should email SDPDrecruiting@pd.sandiego.gov to schedule their attendance at the expo.
