A motorcyclist died Sunday morning after he crashed his bike into a sedan in Chula Vista.
The crash happened at 7:18 a.m. at Telegraph Canyon Road and Medical Center Drive, according to Chula Vista police.
When officers arrived, they determined that the male motorcyclist had been traveling eastbound on Telegraph Canyon when he struck a four-door sedan turning west from northbound Medical Center Drive.
Chula Vista fire crews performed life-saving measures on the motorcyclist, who was transported to Scripps Mercy trauma center. Doctors there pronounced him dead. His name is being withheld pending notification of family members.
The driver of the sedan remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said
The department’s traffic bureau will investigate the collision. At this time, alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
