A blackout Friday left thousands of San Diego Gas & Electric customers without electricity in North County.
About 6,000 residents of Carlsbad and La Costa were affected in an outage that began at 6:07 p.m.
According to an SDG&E outage map, the affected areas are concentrated south of Carlsbad Village Drive, east of Madison Street, and north of Cannon Road off Avenida Encinas.
By 9:30 p.m. the map showed no outages in those areas. Power had been expected to be restored by 10 p.m. The cause of the outage is being investigated.
