A robber forced his way into a Verizon store in Chula Vista Saturday morning, fleeing with multiple cell phones worth approximately $30,000.

An employee was unlocking the store at Otay Ranch Town Center to begin the workday when the male suspect walked up and forced his way inside, according to OnScene.TV. He claimed he had a gun.

Once inside, he filled several black trash bags with the phones, then left the store.

The employee, who was not injured, never saw a handgun. The suspect, the victim told police, wore all black clothing and a full face mask.

He fled in an unknown direction. Chula Vista police were investigating.
