A male pedestrian died after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Redwood Village Saturday evening, San Diego Police said.
The man, 57, had been seen walking in and out of the roadway near the 5600 block of Chollas Parkway leading up to the 8:15 p.m. incident.
Police said an unidentified vehicle traveling north on Chollas Parkway hit the man, then fled. The victim died at the scene.
OnScene TV reported that witnesses identified the vehicle as a white Jeep. In addition, police closed the parkway at 54th Street.
The San Diego Police Department’s Traffic Division is investigating.
