
A woman suffered serious injuries Thursday morning when she was struck by a hit-and-run driver near a Casa de Oro intersection, authorities said.
The pedestrian was struck about 1 a.m. near Kenwood Drive and Kenora Drive, just north of state Route 94, California Highway Patrol Officer Jeff Christy said.
The victim, a homeless woman who lives in the area, was taken to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries, which were not believed to be life- threatening, Christy said. Her age was not immediately available.
Detectives plan to look at surveillance cameras in the area of the crash, but no details about the suspect or the suspect vehicle were immediately available, the officer said.
