Authorities on Friday publicly identified an El Cajon man who died after a car struck him.

A Nissan Altima hit George Flores, 60, as he crossed East Main Street in El Cajon at about 10 p.m. Thursday.

The Altima, going eastbound, did not have its headlights on, according to police and the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Paramedics took Flores to Sharp Memorial Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The motorist remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated with investigators, El Cajon police Lt. Jason Taub said.
