Authorities were on the lookout Friday for a narcotics suspect who escaped from the Lemon Grove Sheriff’s Substation during post-arrest processing.
Jovany Gallardo, 29, was not wearing handcuffs when he fled from the precinct house Friday morning, according to sheriff’s officials.
Gallardo, who had been taken into custody Thursday night on federal drug charges, is a 5-foot-8-inch, roughly 180-pound Latino with heavily tattooed arms and legs. At the time of his escape, he was wearing light-blue jeans and a navy-blue shirt with the word “Champion” on the front.
Anyone with information on Gallardo’s whereabouts is asked to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or contact the agency online at sdcrimestoppers.org. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
