A 57-year-old bicyclist was hospitalized Wednesday evening with serious but non-life-threatening injuries he sustained when he crashed into a vehicle making a U-turn in Old Town and was then struck by another vehicle.
The crash occurred about 8 p.m. in the 2300 block of Congress Street, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.
A preliminary investigation determined a 30-year old man driving a vehicle southbound on Congress Street made a left turn across the northbound lane to make a U-turn and the bicyclist struck the passenger side of the vehicle, fell off the bicycle and was struck by different vehicle, Heims said.
The rider was taken to a hospital with serious but non-life- threatening injuries, Heims said.
