A body was found Wednesday near Tide Beach Park in Solana Beach.
The discovery in the area of North Highway 101 and West Cliff Street was reported shortly before 11 a.m., said sheriff’s Lt. Mark Moreno.
The county Medical Examiner’s Office was called in to take custody of the body for identification and autopsy purposes.
There were no immediate indications of any suspicious circumstances in connection with the fatality.
Meanwhile, authorities publicly identified a man found dead of unknown causes this week on the ocean shoreline in Encinitas.
A passerby came across the body of Christopher Gibson, 32, at Stonesteps Beach at about 7 a.m. Tuesday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Gibson was a convicted bank robber, who in 2015 was named the “bearded bandit,” The San Diego Union-Tribune reported. He pleaded guilty to robbing three banks in San Diego County by presenting demand notes to tellers.
U.S. District Judge Marilyn Huff ordered him to pay restitution to the banks and sentenced Gibson to 70 months behind bars.
A ruling on the cause of Gibson’s death was on hold pending completion of postmortem exams.
