A motorcyclist died Saturday in an apparent solo crash on northbound Interstate 5 near Mission Bay Golf Course.
The crash was reported at 5:43 p.m. south of Balboa Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist landed on the right-hand shoulder and the motorcycle went down in the far right lane, the CHP said.
Patrolmen temporarily shut down lanes three and four, but they re-opened them just after 6:30 p.m., the CHP said.
