A fire of unknown origin extensively damaged a home Friday in a community in the far southern reaches of San Diego County.

The non-injury blaze in the 1800 block of Campo Truck Trail in Campo was reported about 4:30 p.m., according to Cal Fire.

It took crews just over an hour to control the flames spreading through the roughly 1,400-square-foot, single-story house, said Thomas Shoots, a fire captain with the agency.

It was not immediately clear if the residence was a complete loss, he said. The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
