A motorist was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs during a DUI checkpoint, police said Saturday.
The checkpoint was held Friday between 6 p.m. and midnight at Second Avenue and Broadway, according to Escondido Police Department spokesman Kevin Toth.
Police cited 23 drivers for not having a license or having a suspended or revoked license, Toth said. Three drivers were cited for not having insurance.
