A 33-year-old man already in custody was identified as the suspect in a fatal shooting inside a hotel room at the Singing Hills Golf Resort near Sycuan Casino east of El Cajon, authorities said Friday.
Frank Eldon Billeter, who was in the San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of other charges, is accused in Wednesday’s killing of Dylan Michael Brooks, 28, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Thomas Seiver said.
Dispatchers received a report about 6 p.m. that night that a person had been shot at the golf course and resort on Dehesa Road near Willow Glen Drive, according to Seiver.
Deputies responded to the scene and found Brooks had been shot inside a hotel room on the property, Seiver said.
Medics took the man to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, Seiver said.
