Authorities Wednesday publicly identified a 44-year-old woman found dead last weekend in the waters of Lake Murray.

A passerby spotted the body of Elena Lisowski of San Diego floating in the lake at 12:57 p.m. Sunday, said the San Diego Police Department.

Her body was recovered in the reservoir near the 5500 block of Kiowa Drive in La Mesa, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.

How and when Lisowski died remains under investigation, the county agency reported.

According to an online profile, Lisowski was a La Mesa resident and a moulage technician at El Cajon-based contractor Lexicon Inc. Another site placed her as a Carlsbad resident.

She wrote that she’d been in the restaurant industry for 17 years.

“My longest job was at the Princess Pub in Little Italy for 15 years but have had other jobs simultaneously,” she said. “I left to start traveling as a special effects makeup artist for military training, but my 6-year contract ended and I’m looking to work in restaurants again.”

She also worked at La Mesa’s Antica Trattoria.

“I am attentive with guests and always am making sure to go the extra mile,” she said. “I am used to high volume places so I possess a great sense of urgency but handle pressure with ease.”
