A 73-year-old Oceanside woman who went missing this week was found Tuesday, lost but unharmed, in a neighborhood about 35 miles south of her coastal hometown, authorities reported.

Marlynn Arnold, who suffers from memory loss, drove away from her residence about noon Monday, planning to get food and a smog check for her car, according to the Oceanside Police Department.

Arnold’s family reported her missing when the senior, who does not have a cellphone, failed to return home when expected.

Early Tuesday afternoon, Arnold flagged down an officer in the area of 32nd Street and Webster Avenue in southeast San Diego and reported being lost, said OPD Lt. Taurino Valdovinos.

Police contacted one of Arnold’s relatives, who drove to San Diego to pick her up, the lieutenant said.
