A 25-year-old woman was critically injured and her dog was killed when they were hit by a car as they crossed a street Thursday evening in Normal Heights.
The crash took place in the intersection of 34th Street and Adams Avenue at about 6:50 p.m., San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.
The pair were hit by a blue 2009 Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 35-year- old man, Heims said.
The dog was killed at the scene and the woman was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
No DUI was suspected, Heims added.
