The crash occurred about 2:40 p.m. near 290 Seagaze Drive, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The train’s engineer told deputies that the woman, who appeared to be in her 30s, deliberately walked onto the tracks past the guarded pedestrian crossing.

The woman died at the scene. Her name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Anyone with information on this crash was asked to call the sheriff’s department at 858-565-5200.
