A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a pickup truck Thursday morning in the Barrio Logan neighborhood, police said.
The collision happened shortly before 5:25 a.m. on Harbor Drive near Sigsbee Street, according to San Diego police.
A 54-year-old man was driving a Toyota Tacoma westbound in the left lane when he struck a woman from behind as she was walking westbound, SDPD Officer Tony Martinez said.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, Martinez said.
The driver of the pickup remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, the officer said.
Authorities shut down both northbound lanes of Harbor Drive from Sigsbee Street and one southbound lane near Sigsbee Street for the crash investigation.
