A pedestrian was killed by a minivan Monday morning near an off-ramp from Interstate 5 to India Street north of Little Italy.
The crash was reported around 5 a.m. near the exit ramp from northbound I-5, according to San Diego Police, who said the 55-year-old driver of a Chrysler minivan remained at the scene.
The victim, a 38-year-old man, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities shut down the off-ramp and northbound India Street from Laurel Street for the investigation. The ramp and all lanes were reopened by 8:40 a.m.
