A man was transported to a hospital Saturday night with major head injuries after he walked into the path of a pickup truck in San Diego.
The collision happened just after 6 p.m. in the 4500 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard at Genesee Avenue, San Diego Police Officer Robert Heims said.
“An unknown male pedestrian in his 40s stepped off the curb and into traffic for an unknown reason and was struck by the Ford F-150 mid-block on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard,” Heims said.
The man suffered life-threatening head injuries, the officer said. Paramedics took the man to a hospital.
Neither DUI nor drugs were believed factors in the crash, Heims said.
