A group of men stole a vehicle Monday morning after a fight in the parking lot of a Target store in Mission Valley, but abandoned the vehicle a few blocks away.
It happened around 3:15 a.m. in the parking lot of the Target at the Westfield Mission Valley mall, 1288 Camino Del Rio North, according to San Diego Police.
A man was walking to his vehicle in the parking lot when he got into an argument with a group of five men, Officer Dino Delimitros said.
The driver got into his car, but one of the men attempted to open a passenger door so the driver got out to confront the group again and a fight ensued, the officer said.
The group then hopped into the victim’s car and sped off before officers located the unoccupied vehicle a few blocks away, Delimitros said, adding that the victim did not have to be taken to a hospital.
No detailed description of the suspects was available.
