A man suffered a medical emergency while hiking Sunday afternoon in Mission Trails Regional Park and was air-lifted from the remote area by a team of first responders.
According to a report by OnSceneTV, the man was among a group of five hikers on a trail near Cowles Mountain when he collapsed without warning just after 2 p.m. Sunday.
San Diego Fire & Rescue responded to the incident and a department helicopter was dispatched to evacuate the man off the trail and to a area where an ambulance was waiting.
According to the report, the man was taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital for treatment. No other details were available.
