A man suffered burn injuries Friday in a fire that destroyed three recreational vehicles and spread to nearby vegetation and a mulch pile at a northeast Oceanside nursery.
According to the Oceanside Fire Department, the blaze was reported about 3 p.m. in the 600 block of Sleeping Indian Road and was fully contained within about an hour. But due to the smoldering mulch, the blaze was not expected to be fully extinguished for several more hours.
According to reports from the scene, a doublewide trailer and some type of building were also damaged, along with a truck.
Oceanside Police spokesman Tom Bussey said the burn patient, whose name was not released, was transported to Palomar Medical Center for treatment of what were described as minor burn injuries.
Firefighters from the North County Fire Protection District and Camp Pendleton helped in the firefight.
There was no immediate word on what sparked the fire.
