A 51-year-old woman reported missing overnight from a campground in Valley Center turned up Thursday morning about a mile and a half south of where she was last seen, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
Residents in a home in the 12000 block of Calle De Ensueno Road called authorities about 7:30 a.m. Thursday after a woman, who identified herself at Diane Dwyer, came to their bedroom window saying that she needed help and water.
The residents recognized the woman from a missing person’s bulletin they had seen on Facebook and immediately contacted the sheriff’s department.
Dwyer was last seen at 3 a.m. at Lilac Oaks Campground, where she was staying with her husband.
According to Sgt. Michael Tingley, Dwyer had suffered some cuts to her legs and feet, and was having trouble walking.
The Valley Center Fire Department was called in to assist, and Dwyer was transported to Palomar Medical Center for a medical evaluation.
