A predawn fire damaged a fence and an adjacent home Monday near Colina Park Golf Course, displacing three residents.
The non-injury blaze in the 4000 block of Euclid Avenue in Teralta East erupted about 1:30 a.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
Arriving firefighters found downed power lines in the area, but it was unclear if the cables had sparked the fire. After the personnel subdued the flames, they discovered that there also was a gas leak in the neighborhood, said SDFRD spokeswoman Monica Munoz.
The fire caused an estimated $20,000 worth of damage, Munoz said.
The American Red Cross was called in help the displaced residents — all adults — arrange for emergency shelter.
