Police arrested a knife-wielding man Sunday morning following a robbery in Balboa Park.

The suspect approached the victim about 10:45 a.m. near 6th Avenue and Laurel Street, and robbed him of $48, police said.

The victim initially resisted, so the suspect kicked him to overtake him. Once he fled, witnesses directed officers to his location, near Redwood Circle.

Officers found the suspect there and took him into custody on suspicion of armed robbery. The man had two knives in his possession.
