Three suspects robbed a 22-year-old man at gunpoint Thursday near San Diego State University.
The victim stood in the north alleyway in the 5700 block of Montezuma Road around 4:15 p.m. Then the men approached and began talking with him, San Diego police Officer Robert Heims said.
“Shortly after talking to the victim, one of the suspects pointed a gun at the victim,” Heims said. “While he did this, a second suspect went through his pockets.”
The suspects took the victim’s vape pen, cell phone and knife. They ran from the area and were last seen heading east toward Campanile Drive, Heims said.
Witnessed described all three suspects as black men in their mid-20s. One was 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighed about 160 pounds and had a gold-colored “grill” on his teeth. He was wearing black sweatpants and a black beanie.
The second suspect was 5 feet, 10 inches tall, also about 160 pounds and was wearing black clothing and a black fanny pack.
The third suspect was 5 feet, 11 inches to 6 feet tall and was wearing a black shirt and multi-colored pants.
Anyone with information about the robbery or the suspects was urged to call Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
