Firefighters contained a brush fire off Interstate 15 in Fallbrook Sunday, Cal Fire San Diego reported.

The incident, dubbed the Aspen Fire, burned three acres in the 2000 block of Rainbow Glen Road.

Cal Fire reported at 3:30 p.m. that crews had stopped the blaze from spreading.

“Ground crews will now transition to mop-up and containment operations,” officials said.

The fire burned among medium to heavy fuels in a grove, according to Cal Fire and the North County Fire Protection District. Some structures were threatened, but no evacuations were reported.
