Firefighters rescued the man and returned him to the hospital for treatment of a broken arm and leg.
At around 7:45 a.m. Saturday, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department received a 911 call from the hospital’s ER room saying a man they were treating ran away, Battalion Chief Jeff Mitchell said.
The man fell from a cliff on Dickinson Street behind the hospital, Mitchell said. Firefighters arrived and searched the steep canyon, where they eventually found the injured man and took him back to the hospital.
