San Diego Police are investigating the suspected fentanyl overdose death of a man in Scripps Ranch as a possible homicide.
Officers responded to a home in the 10300 block of Ridgewater Lane around 8:30 p.m. Saturday after a friend of the deceased called 911 after she couldn’t reach him.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner was called to the scene and determined that there was other issues with the death.
The deceased man’s female companion was being questioned, according to reports from the scene.
Homicide Detectives were joined by Drug Enforcement Administration personnel in the investigation.
Police said the victim’s identity will not be released until family are notified.
