Authorities said Tuesday the victim in a hit-and-run crash in Rancho Penasquitos on Sunday morning has died at a local hospital

The San Diego County Medical Examiner‘s office said Nang Arm, 37, died at 3:48 a.m. on Monday at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla.

Arm was hit around 7 a.m. Sunday while walking on a sidewalk along Black Mountain Road north of Carmel Mountain Road.

A gold-colored 2006 Nissan Sentra driven by a 20-year-old woman with two passengers inside was heading south on Black Mountain Road when it veered to the right, went onto the sidewalk, damaged a fence, then struck Arm, according to San Diego Police. The car’s driver walked away from the accident.

Evelin J. Nunez was later arrested by detectives and jailed on suspicion of driving under the influence, felony hit-and-run and gross vehicular manslaughter. She was being held in lieu of $1 million bail pending arraignment on Wednesday afternoon.

The passengers in the car were interviewed by police and released.
