A shooting near Chicano Park left a teenage pedestrian badly wounded Monday, authorities reported.
The victim was walking with two companions in the 800 block of Sampson Street in Logan Heights about 11:30 a.m. when a dark-colored sedan passed them and rolled to a stop nearby, according to San Diego police.
A passenger then got out of the car and, without saying anything, fired several shots at the group, wounding a 17-year-old boy in the side, Officer Robert Heims said.
The shooter, a Latino man who appeared to be in his early 20s, then got back into the vehicle, which was driven away to the north.
Medics took the victim to a hospital for treatment of serious wounds, Heims said.
