A suspect was in custody Tuesday morning after a man was shot and wounded on a street in Escondido.

The shooting occurred about 7:50 p.m. in the area of East Mission Avenue and North Rose Street.

Arriving Escondido Police officers found the victim near a vehicle with crash damage. The man was struck in an arm and a leg and was taken to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to broadcast reports.

A videographer at the scene said the suspect was chased on foot by police and subdued with a Taser.
