Two people suffered minor injuries Wednesday morning in a crash involving a San Diego Police cruiser in the Egger Highlands area.

The crash happened around 3:20 a.m. near the intersection of Palm and Thermal avenues, San Diego Police Officer Tony Martinez said.

The circumstances leading up to the crash were under investigation, but Martinez confirmed that a marked SDPD patrol car was involved in the collision.

Two people were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, NBC7 reported.

The officer involved in the crash was uninjured, Martinez said.

No details about the victims or vehicles involved were immediately available.
