San Diego Police announced Friday the arrest of two suspects in the April 8 stabbing death of a 19-year-old man during a brawl at a public park in the Lincoln Park neighborhood.
Marcus Spearman, 20, and David Valenzuela, 39, were arrested for suspected involvement in the homicide and booked into the San Diego County Jail.
The early evening fight at John F. Kennedy Park stemmed from an earlier altercation at a nearby taco shop. When officers arrived, the participants had dispersed, but two men showed up at local hospitals with stab wounds.
Orlando Montoya, 19, later died of his wounds. The second victim, also a 19 year-old man, survived.
Police said additional arrests may be forthcoming. Anyone with information regarding the incident was asked to call the homicide unit at (619) 531-2293 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at (888) 580-8477.
