The Coronado Bridge was closed in both directions during the Thursday afternoon rush hour because of a suicidal man.
San Diego police announced the closure shortly after 6 p.m., and the California Highway Patrol confirmed that there was a suicidal man on the edge of the structure.
But about 45 minutes later, police Sgt. Michael Tansey said the bridge was open for all traffic in both directions.
The iconic span over San Diego Bay is frequently closed because of jumpers, and the state is working on new safety barriers.
