A woman was shot to death Saturday outside her car in a residential neighborhood in Alpine.
The shooting was reported at 2:12 p.m. in the area of Victoria Drive and England Place, San Diego County Sheriff‘s Lt. Rich Williams said.
“Callers reported hearing shots fired and seeing a man with a gun walking in the area,” Williams said.
Responding deputies quickly located a man matching the suspect’s description and detained him without incident, the lieutenant said. He had two handguns.
The gravely wounded woman was found near a vehicle parked in the 2800 block of Victoria Drive, Williams said. Alpine firefighters pronounced her dead at the scene.
The names of the victim and the suspect were not released.
