Border Patrol agents in San Diego Sector are reporting increasing instances of vehicles crashing through aging sections of the border wall.
On Feb. 2, agents discovered a portion of the old landing-mat barrier that was cut, pushed down, and then run over. Agents discovered tire tracks, but no vehicle.
Then on Thursday afternoon, agents discovered another breach near Campo. The fence had been cut, then pushed back into place in an attempt to conceal the illegal entry.
Agents with a K-9 team followed tire tracks to an abandoned 1995 Ford pickup and found 24 migrants in the bushes nearby.
The group was arrested and taken to the Campo Station for further processing.
On Nov. 29, a Chevrolet Silverado carrying 11 migrants drove through the fence, was chased and crashed, leaving three migrants dead.
