The 25-year-old man was at the Art Laboe Valentine’s Super Love Jam with friends, and the group left the concert sometime before 11:20 p.m., according to San Diego Police Sgt. Michale Tansey.

The group was walking south in the arena’s parking lot and became involved in an argument with another group, which turned into a physical fight just north of the Arco on Sports Arena Boulevard just south of the arena, Tansey said.

The fight continued to the south side of the gas station, and one of the men pulled out a gun and fired a shot, striking the 25-year-old man in the thigh, according to Tansey. The suspect fled and the man who was shot wasn’t able to provide a description.

Paramedics took the victim to hospital. His injury was not considered life-threatening.
